It is located at the intersection of Beyazฤฑt, Nuruosmaniye and Mercan neighborhoods, in the heart of the Historical Peninsula. The Grand Bazaar covers an area of 30,700 square meters. It has approximately 60 streets and more than 4,000 shops. The top of the structure is covered with domes, which provides visitors with a sheltered environment while shopping. The Grand Bazaar has been the commercial center of Istanbul since the Ottoman period. A wide range of products are offered, such as jewelry, carpets, leather products, antiques, spices, rugs and ceramic tiles. Many examples of traditional Turkish handicrafts can also be found in the bazaar. Today, both tourists and locals visit the bazaar for the rich variety of products it offers. The Grand Bazaar is a major attraction for both local and foreign tourists. Its historical texture, colorful shops and labyrinthine structure offer visitors a unique experience. The bazaar continues to be a center that introduces and reflects traditional Turkish culture. The Grand Bazaar is an important part of both Istanbul's and the world's cultural heritage. The bazaar, which contains thousands of years of historical and commercial history, offers its visitors a fascinating atmosphere. It is a must-see place for anyone who wants to both shop and witness history in Istanbul.
